GDesk is a customizable and extendable desktop system. It allow you to create your personal desktop on your mobile device- you can add anything to it that you like. Simply place icons of your favourite and most-used mobile applications onto the desktop, these can be applications, page links and plug-ins. Plug-ins can be added at any time and further functionality is promised over time.

-Steps involved for 5800 & 5530 to achieve N97/I8910 interface steps:

1. Download Gdesk, the latest version is 0.33 version. After downloading codecs, 7 files. Directly in the 5800 installation, do not sign!

Compressed package contains:

-GDesk.x.yy.SIS - main installation program

-GDeskClockS60.x.yy.SIS - a clock plug-in add a clock

-GDeskAgnViewS60.x.yy.SIS - an agenda view plug-in add a calendar

-GDeskTaskManS60.x.yy.SIS - a Task Manager plug-in add a simple task manager

-GDeskInfoViewS60.x.yy.SIS - a display of various information of the plug-ins

A total of 7 modes:

-Free RAM (memory left to kb or Mb display)

-Battery (remaining capacity in order to% indicated)

-Signal (signal strength, with 1-5 digits)

-Next Alam (the remainder of the next clock start time)

-Messages (unread text messages, with the number indicated)

-Network (network conditions, with the number indicated)

-Indicators (indicator can be displayed simultaneously (C)harging -charge, (N)etwork -Network, (P) honecall - Telephone 3 items)

-GDeskNotepadS60.x.yy.SIS-a small notebook plug-in can display text messages

2. Start gdesk software, select and run the "design (DESIGN)" option, this time the dialog box will pop up, import the corresponding gdd file (that is, you download above the gdd files) load it, Now you can have N97 or Samsung i8910 GUI.

To remove GDESK: Enter the App manager- uninstall the main program first , and then unloaded the other plug-ins, and delete where there are gdesk folder exist.

Now Nokia has just officially announced the New Nokia N900 device powered by Linux OS (Maemo 5).

The new multitasking N900 brings computer grade performance in a compact size.Nokia N900 touch runs on powerful ARM Cortex-A8 600 MHz processor,with up to 1GB of application memory (256 MB RAM, 768 MB virtual memory), OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics acceleration and 3.5 inch WVGA touchscreen having resolution (800 x 600).

SajiOS V5 :Free Windows 7 Style On S60

Sajid Ali Anjum at Ssajisoft developed a app for S60 device which make you feel Windows OS. SajiOS v5 gives you twelve standby icons instead of the usual six or seven. But you'll lose the custom actions of the softkeys, and there's no quick access to the calendar, search box, etc. through the active standby items, so the net gain is not that much.

SajiOS won't display the usual application icons either, because it can only handle icons and background images in flash format. The built-in icon set is quite limited. For example, there's no a suitable icon for the SMS application.

Doesnt look that much like Symbian, lets just hope that this OS will rock.Murtazin lays down a screen capture of Nokia’s new Linux-based beauty. We all have S60 Device with GPS, but consider the situation when you need GPS signal on your laptop (For Google Earth)or another phone?, There is nothing simpler than install a free program ExtGPS. It is a simple Java program to run and the phone suddenly becomes a bluetooth GPS module to connect to any other device.

In this ExtGPS app you have to authorize the application to connect (Bluetooth) and the application area, through which the data obtained. The two signal lights in this app indicate whether you are within range of satellites and the device is currently connected via Bluetooth. Unfortunately, this application can not compel the phone to see himself through bluetooth, so that those who thought that would go to use this application to make TomToma with internal GPS chip must disappoint.

The game is only 2 MB is size but looks more healthy on graphics. To download the game directly on your S60 device, Go to the Showroom tab at N-Gage application on your Nokia device,then select “Option” and then select “Update now“. After update you will see the new n-gage game Tomb Raider Underworld listed in the showroom.

Retrieving Your Backup On Ovi Sync

Nokia has introduced the Ovi Sync service to provide an online solution to let all of us enjoy the convenience of keeping our contacts backed up without much of a hassle. Changing, loosing mobile phone or getting software upgrade: Ovi is the solution, sit back and relax ,with Ovi Sync you’re back in business with in a minute.

Many Ovi users face problems while Synchronizing their data via OVI Sync. service. At most lots of my friend's contacted me, when they lost their Contact data on Ovi Sync service while sync after software upgrade, changing handset or perhaps when they lost their phone.

The main problem is in the procedure of getting data back :-

1- When we face such problem of losing device or software upgrade,we use to go to OVI site and send new setting via sms using "Manage Your Device" section.

2- Then we Sync with that new setting received, And all data (Contact, Notes, Calender ) on Ovi get lost.

3- From this point their is no turning back.

So what's the problem-Note Ovi assume the phone as primary restore point, And when Ovi finds the Contact, Notes & Calender empty on new device it replace all the data on Ovi server with null,i.e. all of your data get lost.

This time,I am going to tell you how to retrieve your Backup data using Ovi Sync. backup service without too much hassle.

1- For a start you’ll have to log into Ovi.com, and select restore device (Remember what we have done previously avoid that.). The main reason is if you do not do so, it will assume the phone is the primary restore point and send the contacts back to Ovi.com (in this situation it’s empty if you get a new phone or have software upgrade)

2-Once you have select to restore the device, sync up with Ovi.com and it should get the contacts and other important information back to your mobile device.

N-Gage First Access Updated to V1.40

Today N-gage First Access updated to version V1.40 (1557),Now available to download only for S60 V3 FP1 & FP2 Non-Touch Devices (like the E75, N95, N96, N82, N85, N86, N79, etc).

For Touch Device you have to wait.

You can download the updated version by going to current N-Gage application on your device and navigation to Options–>Check for update. This will automatically prompt you to update.

This new version also bring a new 'Intro Video' that plays every time you start up the N-Gage app and that's what I really like. Also at the bottom of the 'My Games' section you will notice a link to 'Install Games from PC'.

In some devices you will notice problem that "No Update is Available", As I encounter when I was going to install it on my N82-But it detects update on my another N82,I don't know problem behind this, but if you encounter problem like this you can install it through PC -

"SINGAPORE (Dow Jones)--Nokia Corp. (NOK), the world's biggest maker of cellphones by volume, said Wednesday it remains "strongly committed" to the Symbian mobile operating system.

The statement comes after the German edition of the Financial Times reported citing an unnamed source that Nokia will abandon the Symbian platform for its smartphone devices in favor of the Maemo operating system.

"We remain strongly committed to our current open OS software strategy for cellular devices, which is based on the world-leading Symbian OS...," Nokia said in a statement."

As we already spotted the news of new Nokia N900 (RX15 Design) device in our previous post,Now we got our hand on Exclusive sneak preview of the Nokia N900 prototype device.The photos appeared on the Mobile Bulgaria website.After taking a closer look I instantly noticed two big thing which I don’t like about the new N900- It doesn't have a Xenon flash, which I was expecting on Nokia's next release after N97 and the second thing I noticed is -its pretty small Keyboard. I am expecting some improvement in hardware section and sure this new RX-51 design will come up with some new enhancement.

Another version of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic has been approved by the FCC. The 5800i is pretty similar to the regular 5800 version.But in terms of features you can expect WCDMA 900/2100MHz,quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and WiFi connectivity.
